The processing time for my application is 10 months since I live outside Quebec. It is now 1 week for my application to reach 10 months since I applied in December. Untill now background and eligibility still in process. I’m afraid it’s likely my application will go past the processing time. What should I do in this situation. I hear some people say I should go to see my mp and ask them to send inquiry about my application. Can someone please help me out. Im concerned

The goals is to process 80% of applications a in 10 months but applications from certain countries have almost always been longer. There are also a variety of things that can lead to longer processing times like needing an interview, medical issues, etc. Processing times are just estimates and not guarantees. If your application is moving forward all you can do is wait. An MP can’t do anything about your file especially because your processing time is far from excessive. If it was 2 years then I’d say contact your MP.

No obvious reason to be concerned.

however, you can order your GCMS notes, and contact your MP's office to inquire if they can find any info. At the 10 month stage MP's office probably not going to give you any useful information. GCMS is hard to interpret, and usually routine information, but once in a while something useful can be found in them.

Personally I'd give it a few more months (to the 12 month stage) before MP's office. But there's no harm in inquiring.

Depending on the country even 12 months would still be normal processing. For example not unusual for applications from Pakistan to be closer to 15+ months.

The point above was mostly not that this is unusual, but rather the point at which MPs offices will not assist as no delay over the formal, posted, normal timeline.

Applicants have the right to inquire, and also order gcms notes. You may think that it's not useful or unnecessary (a point I believe my post made perfectly clear), but they have the right.

Please go subtweet somebody else. Your own personal version of community notes is really not needed, particularly since you so often miss the point.

Order GCMS notes there is no need to contact an MP.
