Hi All,

I have been reading all your responses and I am grateful for your help. Does my mom need to be a holder of a US visa to be able to send her passport to New York to get it stamped? Thanks in advance for your help.

No. You just send them with UPS with return envelopes
Thanks so much for your feedback. We applied for her Super Visa on February 11, 2024, and it is still in process. She is scheduled to Travel June 22 so I wanted to know what are our options, should it get approved.

Hi all!
I read all your questions and responses and really appreciated it.
My parents supervisa application was submitted in febuary 2024 and we uploaded all the required documents (biometrics, medical tests, additional documents) in March 2024 and we're still waiting for a response. I have raised several web forms and they always reply that "Your application is still in process...". We even filled out web forms to cancel the application and still got responses as if we're checking our processing status...(Do they even read the web form in detail?)
Anyways, they are planning to come on their visitor's visa in septembre.
My mom's agent told her that once the supervisa is stamped they will cancel the visitor's visa (like physically strike it out or write something over it in the passport). Is this the case? Will she be staying here illegally if her visitor's visa got stock out? Or she can still stay the 6 months as allowed by the visitor's visa?
Hope my questions are clear.
Thank you in advance!

No need to use an agent in the first place and especially one who gives false information. Normal TRV will remain and you only need a valid TRV to try and enter Canada. The length of visit is always determined when you enter Canada and you can be granted up to 6 month. CBSA determines how long you can visit and whether you can enter Canada.

My mother visited us Sept’23 - Jan’24. We planned to apply for her super visa later this year. However, due to personal issues, we decided to bring forward her visit in May’24 and apply for the super visa before her flight to Canada.

Finally, We received her visa approval and PPR request today.

Questions:
1. Can we submit an explanation letter to apply within Canada, or is it necessary to send the application to VFS outside of Canada?

2 since she has a US visa, can she activate her super visa and make a re-entry?
(she is flying back in Nov’24 so can provide ticket proof)

3. how are the six months calculated for the multiple-entry visa? Does it include the month of Jan’24 and the other 5 months ( May to October), or does it count as six months from her last entry?

I am confused about this and would appreciate some guidance.

Can anyone confirm if the Applicant (Parents in my case) have to fly out of Canada and re enter or they can cross the border by land and enter to get their visa started. (They have a valid US visitor visa)

I have senty moms passport to Ottawa for stamping, once I receive it I was wondering what are the next steps. Some say land crossing is not allowed. Only they have to fly in to Canadian airport.

can you please give an update on what was the outcome?

what was the answer to this? does the person need to fly out? can it be by land? go to USA and come back if the person has a US visitor visa.

Ok sure, let's keep updating on any progress. We also plan to fly to Seattle and fly back in. The only challenge we have is they will have 6 months completed on March 18th ln visitor visa. So we need to fly out before that and also hopefully we receive passport before that. The total processing time shows 14 calendar days plus the xpresspost mailing.

All the best.
Can the person re enter by land? go to USA with a US visitor Visa and then re enter with the supervisa to Canada the same day?

An update:
After the Supervisa was stamped at the New York office and returned to us, we crossed the border to the USA on the weekend and returned the same day. No issues at the borders....although the USA officials found the process hilarious. They could not understand the reason for mom to exit Canada to use the Supervisa. And frankly....neither can I.
did you do it by land?

Hi - could you please keep us posted on this. I just spoke with immigration customer care and they said, its not possible to stamp passport within Canada and also, its not advisable to send it by post to any other country.. They simply said, it should be done from the same country from where you applied, in my case India. I am not sure, how this process is working. Could you please advise, once you get your passport back after stamping. Best of luck. thanks
