looking for information about sponsoring a foreign spouse for PR. Not sure if children born abroad require sponsoring. Wanting to resettle family in Canada.

What steps does she have to take to be ready for submitting an application? On my side, what do I need to successfully sponsor her?

Being somewhat familiar with international travel, I expect her to be asked to submit these things. Anything missing?

My children only have passports from their mother’s country. They used those every time we visited Canada as a family.

Are you a Canadian citizen? Were uyour children born after you became a citizen?

always been Canadian.Family been here for centuries. I travelled and settled in my wife’s country for about 18 years and married there 12 years ago. My sons were born there, but have yet to ask for Canadian citizenship.

They will not need to be sponsored, but you will need to get them Canadian passports. They are citizens, just need to apply for citizenship certificate and passports. Contact embassy.
