Finallyyyy my Oath Invite arrived today. The tracker was updated two days ago. My in-person oath is set on May 10th.
Are family members allowed to witness the in-person oath?
Congratulation!

Before covid family members were allowed to attend the ceremony. I think they can.

Hello All,
I applied on Dec 14, 2022 and i am still waiting... IRCC marked background verification to completed in Feb 7, 2022 and on May 22, 2024 they changed the background verification to in progress. Did anyone else still waiting and have the same issue?? Or any member can explain why would they do that? Thanks

I think your background completed Feb 7, 2023 not 2022. Regarding your question, I know applicants that were required to submit Fingerprint, the fingerprints are valid for 12 months. If IRCC didn't complete the application process before the FP expiry date, IRCC turned the BG to in process and requested a new FP. Did IRCC asked you FP in 2023?

You can surrender your Indian passport within 3 years
You can travel with it for another 90 days I believe after receipt of the new citizenship and passport
Surrendering the Indian passport in India is way cheaper and faster
Cost to surrender Indian passport in Canada is a 119$ where as in India it is 8$
I would do a research on this topic on eoi.gov.in
Nice info brother. How long would that generally take in India. Coz if we are only having a short trip like 3 to 4 weeks, are we still good?? Or wait till we receive or collect the surrender passport and travel back??

Everything marked completed and waiting for Oath invitation since 29 May 2024, today I called IRCC told the agent if everything marked completed why there is a delay in sending me oath invitation, she replied nothing is required from my side, and there are some verifications is in process. My question what are those verifications after an application passed all requirement? Any idea?

There is a final review done before oath is scheduled. You can search the forum and find instances where ppl's scheduled oath got cancelled because of some review and then new oath date took 2-3 months to come by. So in case of IRCC you cannot consider it as done till it's done.

Thank you for your response. For some applicant the time of the final review after all requirement were satisfied is a week or two, shouldn't the final review time is almost equal to every one!

They do a review after LPP is complete to recheck if any issues are found. Sometimes this check can lead to further investigation.

What investigation? I think only racism is killing the IRCC processing time for some people. My case is very straightforward for a goon retired man never been to any bad. IRCC knows everyone very well. I see only discrimination that delays my case.
