My husband sponsored me, and now we are separated and filing for divorce. In one month, I will be eligible for citizenship, but nothing is finalized yet. We have been separated since January. Does this affect my citizenship, considering Canada is changing many policies nowadays?

You can certainly apply for citizenship if you're eligible. Divorce is not an issue at all.
Separated. When the divorce is finalized, you would better inform IRCC about that as well.
But make sure that you have been separated for 90 days because of a breakdown in the relationship, the effective date of your separated status is the day you started living apart.
IRCC may be not that strict about it as it doesn't impact your application in any way, so you can go ahead but include a letter of explanation to clarify all that.
There is no sample. Clarify that you are filing a divorce and you haven't been living together for 6 months and so on and so forth.
I think there's nothing to clarify and nothing of importance to IRCC in this. Marking separated is sufficient. IMO.
