Yes I plan to carry my Indian passport along w/ Canadian passport just incase.
If officer asks for my Indian passport, only then I would show it, else I plan to only use my Canadian passport.

Regarding Nexus, I plan to do the same.
I would be careful about using Indian passport as you will be digging yourself deeper and deeper in to a hole everytime you use it.

Agreed.
I spoke to the border officer and he said just to carry your Canadian passport and NOT the Indian which I will do.
That’s good info. How about the H1B visa stamp and i94 slip that is in Indian passport? Would they ask for it to transfer to Canadian passport?

If you have a valid I797 document; you just need to carry that along with your Canadian passport and they will update your I94. no more visa stamping.

Oh for real? You mean I can bring i797 approval notice along with Canadian Passport and they can update i94. And when H1B renews, I don’t need to stamp H1B visa on my Canadian passport like how we used to go to embassy for visa stamping on Indian passport?

No.
you need the Canadian passport to renter Canada as e certificate is not a travel document.
I checked this with couple of guys. We can re-enter Canada via land border using printed version of e-certificate and Valid ID (drivers license or health card I assume).

No my oath is also next week, May 30th.
I am hoping to get e-certificate within a day so we can apply for urgent passport.
Can you please share your citizenship timeline ? I am trying to figure out whether it take longer with cross broder commute to the US compared to a someone without much travel history

AOR: Jan 4th, 2024
Test: Feb 15th, 2024
Fingerprint: April 2nd, 2024
Oath: June 1st, 2024
Passport received: June 20th, 2024

I don’t think process is longer for cross commuters. It depends on the reviewing officers, I think.

Hi Guys,
I recently received my Canadian passport and in the process of surrendering Indian passport. How do I change the citizenship on Nexus? Can I just drive to the nexus enrollment center without appointment and ask them to verify and change the citizenship on Nexus? I asked couple of border agents but they just said they are not sure.
Thanks

Hey CanucksRajiv, thanks!
Whiterock is a bit of an overkill, as the city has a retirement vibe to it...anyways based on my 2 1/2 years of experience land border worked best with Nexus unless these Covid restrictions came in place and the travel by choice and by force - both came to a halt.

I have read in the past that CIC can issue a RQ if they are not sure of your intent, but am not sure if that applies after the 3/5 rules came into place, so wanted to check on this forum if someone like us have gotten citizenship approved and can share any tips.
