health insurance for new permanent resident

Folks on this thread, any recommedations for a reliable insurance provider (thinking Manulife or Sunlife).
I am arriving in Ontario after 9 months with my wife and new born (both are new PR's) and looking to purchase insurance for 3 months until OHIP kicks in.

There is currently no 3 month wait period (eliminated during Covid and has not returned so unclear if it will ever be reinstated) so as long as they will be meeting the OHIP residency obligations for their 1st year in Ontario they qualify right away.

I believe I'd read it has been reinstated but not certain.

I was mistaken, at least acc to ohip site (which should be accurate of course).

Quebec RAMQ still has a 3 months waiting period but not for those under 18. Wished it followed OHIP rules instead.

Different province different rule. BC also has wait period.
