Hi, any updates?
Nothing still. The only update I got was my bridging work permit being refused because of my nomination certificate getting expired I believe. So I don't know how much longer should I wait before trying to restore my status.

Sorry to hear that. When is your current work permit expiring?

Supposedly yes. Unfortunately in my case its taking a bit longer. Almost 5 months already.
I am sorry to hear that! I have MPNP nomination as well and applied for express entry CEC. Lets wait and see how the timeline looks, and I hope you get yours fast now

Update after my BOWP getting refused. I got this email.

This email is regarding your application for permanent residence to Canada. Please note that since the recent refusal of your work permit extension, you are currently without valid status in Canada. As such, it is not possible for you to become a permanent resident from within Canada until this situation is resolved. Your options are to either apply to have your status reinstated, or to leave Canada and return to become a permanent resident with the other members of your family.

Please advise me on your preferred course of action.

Figured I would provide another update.

Applicants : Self
Eligibility Category : CEC
Occupation Category: STEM
Job Offer : Yes
LIMA : No LIMA
Docs Submitted : 11 JAN 24
AOR Received : 11 JAN 24
Biometrics Request: April 24, 2024
Biometrics Submitted: April 29, 2024
Biometrics Completed: April 29, 2024
Medical Completed: April 23, 2024
Background : In Progress
Eligibility: In Progress

Haven't received an update on the PR status tracker or the main CIC website since my biometrics were completed. I am on my 5 month mark since AOR and IRCC said that they are still processing my background check for the last two months. I lost status through a mistake of their own and won the appeal, but haven't been able to work for 3.5 months since they have to reprocess the Open Work Permit again... which is also past the estimated wait time. I am feeling defeated by this system. I hope everyone else has better luck.

Sorry for the situation you are in, for what it seems like, no fault of yours. If this helps, I have a friend who went through a similar ordeal, IRCC kept her from working for almost 4 months. Her documentation came through eventually. Hoping that there is a happy ending to your story, good luck!

VOs: Edmonton and Vancouver

I called IRCC on May 28, 24 and got the generic answer of it being in progress. I might send them an email soon to nudge from my end (not sure if that'll help). I am also planning on signing up for the GCMS notes, before I do that I was wondering if anyone in a similar situation with their application stuck at Edmonton/Vancouver VO signed up to receive the GCMS notes and has any idea where their file is at? Is it useful in anyway? Is it just going to say 'in progress' like the gazillion tracker we have going on?
