Hello everyone, I have one query.
I have PR STATUS IN Canada and I have driven to USA for multiple times as a long haul driver and I want to ask if those absent days out of Canada count in the process of PR extension application.

Yes. Even a partial day in Canada (even a few minutes) counts as a full day in Canada towards the Residency Obligation.

Hopefully you have very accurate records (your log book) since exits from Canada may not have been captured.

And...there is no PR extension. The PR Card expires and you apply for a renewed card, but the PR status does NOT expire (but can be lost for not meeting the R.O.).

What if I have spend more than 24 hours in USA, will that still count in PR renewal application. I know that an individual has to be in Canada for around 2 years in the 5 year period, what if that also not been completed by someone, Will he lose his PR STATUS?

No. Only days (including partial days) spent in Canada will count towards the 730 days in each rolling 5 year window to meet the Residency Obligation to maintain PR status. This does NOT mean that status is automatically lost if you do not meet that number, but...don't let that happen.

If a PR does not meet the R.O., they are advised not to apply for a renewed card until they have met that number.
