Restoration of status

Hi! Has anyone else restored their status recently? Is the processing time for restoration the same as for a work permit within Canada?

Hi Kat,good luck to you. This the most stressful thing I’ve ever experienced in my life,feels like they ‘re punishing us. Tell you not to work and that you must sit and wait for months while we decide if to refuse you or not. How do you survive? I missed the extension deadline application submission by an hour and now my whole life is in shambles . and found out my girlfriend is pregnant and I have to move but unable to work. It’s crazy

They made this process extremely hard. I’ve only just submitted on the 23rd of April and already losing my mind. I hope you get yours soon, do keep us updated. It’s sad these groups are the only slight glimmer of hope or encouragement for ppl like us.

Wow 4 months is very long , I think you are able to receive some type of support as a student tho. Mine is work permit. Keep us updated

When you say restored in September, when did they apply for restoration? And what type of permit was it? Because if they applied in September and got a letter in November that’s great!! That’s maybe hope for tons of people ..was it a work permit? please update us friend !

Best of luck, I hope an easy resolution finds you. They refused my initial WP application because I didn't submit a document to them, but they never requested that document in my application process. I've been waiting for 95 days now since my restoration application was submitted, hoping for good news soon.

I submitted my restoration application on the 9th Feb, have heard nothing since this was submitted.

I applied on March 2. The processing time at the time of my application was 101 days. So, no updates yet.

Good luck, I hope things start to pick up speed wise, I cant express enough just how frustrating IRCC as an organization.

I know that it is not for restoration applications but I check for the work permit applications. Maybe I am wrong. But who knows

Thanks for the link, that's the one I have been using too.

It says 94 days and I have been waiting for 95 now so fingers crossed.

Hi, the application was in September and yes the letter received was in November. He was out of status for 2 months prior to the application in September. It was a visitor's visa.
