I had a question regarding my wife's sponsorship application. Her application shows all the stages to complete but since last 1.5 months it shows background verification in progress. Has anybody experienced this much wait for the background verification to complete? Or any idea how much is an average wait time for that to complete?

Yes it’s normal for it to take some time for the background to be completed. Mine took almost 3 months. Heres my timeline:

Reading other people's experience, it can take up to 2 to 6 months, depending on the complexity of the application. There are cases that it might take longer than 6 months.
Thank you for your response. I really appreciate it. I also had another question because I read somewhere that background verification takes time if you have travelled multiple countries is that true?
it's the theory. but it makes sense if PA travelled to more places, there are more items to verify. But traveling is just one part of background verification.
And there is nothing you can do to speed it up.
