I got Canadian Citizenship. I am planning to apply for a Canadian Passport first and then surrender the Indian Passport. Is this order correct? Or should I surrender the Indian Passport and then apply for a Canadian Passport. Please let me know what's correct.

You should get your Canadian passport first, and then surrender your Indian passport. That gives you time to travel on the Indian passport (this is explicitly allowed for a certain number of days, even after you gain citizenship of another country), in case you suddenly have to go somewhere and your Canadian passport hasn't come yet.

Hi,
1) For a baby born in Canada, is obtaining Citizenship Certificate necessary to apply for Canadian Passport? OR only Birth Certificate would do? Currently, Citizenship certificate has a processing time of 5 months due to Covid-19.

2) Also, is Canadian passport mandatory to apply for OCI card application? or only Canadian Birth Certificate would do?

3) If OCI is taking long, can a baby apply for regular visitor visa to visit India once and come back and then apply for OCI card later? I couldn't find any information in this area.

Thank you:)

I don't know about 2 and 3 but for the first 1 : the birth certificate is the Citizenship Certificate since the baby is citizen by birth and born in Canada. So you just need the birth certificate to get a passport

Hi,
I got my e certificate today and need to apply for a Canadian passport. I saw the guideline on how to apply for the passport and came to know 1guarantor and 2references are needed to complete the application. I don't really know how to get 2references as they are not supposed to be relatives. Can anyone tell me how to get these references. I don't know anyone here. It's just been 1year in my place. How can I get help with this?

Hi,
One more if someone can answer: We are (a family of 3) and thinking of applying together on the same day, at Service Canada walk-ins. I understand now that a minor is not required at Service Canada, so I can apply on his behalf, But what about my Spouse? Can I apply for all in one go, without even a Spouse and minor presence at Service Canada?
