Hi,
If anyone has some insight into my situation, I would really appreciate the advice.

I'm a Canadian citizen and the principal applicant is in the Philippines.
She was married, long ago. There is no divorce in the Philippines and unable to get annulment, therefore we can never be legally married.
Therefore, from my understanding, we can apply for outland conjugal partnership.
Our application was accepted. AOR, BIL, MIL all done. Medical passed.
Now we are waiting for Pre-Arrival letter.

We would like to apply for TRV. However, it's my understanding that you cannot apply under conjugal as inland application. Once TRV is approved and the principal applicant lands in Canada, doesn't the application automatically get switched to inland? Which would make the application invalid? It's better for us to just wait it out? I've been reading stories that Manila VO can take over 1 year for the processing to be completed. We are 4 months in now.

Any advice or thoughts are appreciated! Thanks!

The application will remain as outland. You cannot switch an outland application to inland. The only way to do this would be to withdraw the first application and all submit a new inland application. Processing times will restart from scratch. I don't see why there would be any issues applying for the TRV.

It remains as outland but the landing can be done virtually as with inland apps (once the applicant is in Canada). That doesn't change it to an inland application (we already have outland applications from within Canada). No issues applying for the app, also perhaps low chances of approval, but no harm in trying.
