The primary applicant is currently in Canada and has been waiting for the virtual landing since January 15, 2024. The dependent, on the other hand, is outside of Canada and received the Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) on February 15, 2024, with the deadline to enter Canada being June 4, 2024. However, the dependent is unable to enter Canada until after the primary applicant's virtual landing. If the dependent's COPR expires before the primary applicant's virtual landing, and IRCC is unresponsive to queries, what should be the next step for the dependent or whom should they contact in this situation?

IRCC process declares that they could not enter until the primary got their COPR, so if it expires before the primary, that's IRCC fault. They will have to re-issue the COPR at the embassy. June is a long way off to be honest, I'm pretty sure you will receive it before then. They may not be giving you information now, but thats what they will have to do if it expires.

Hi, I’m in a similar situation and would appreciate any insights. I have a valid PGWP, but my TRV expired. I had to leave Canada due to a personal emergency before renewing my TRV. I applied for a new TRV from outside Canada, and in the meantime, my PR application, which I filed from within Canada along with my spouse, was approved. My spouse is the primary applicant, and I am the dependent. Since I was outside Canada and couldn’t return without the TRV—which is taking a long time to process—I submitted my passport for PR visa stamping, indicating that I was outside Canada. Today, I received my PR visa and COPR, but my spouse's virtual landing is still stuck at the portal 2 email stage.

I’m wondering if I should return now since I’m employed in Toronto. If my passport and landing documents are held upon arrival, can I continue working with my PGWP and current SIN number, given that I haven't officially landed as a PR yet?
