Hi, We are looking to move to Ontario- ideally Niagara region asap, but getting confused re CRS points..tbh the whole thing which is why am here!!. To be specific, I am a registered nurse in the Uk, but wanted to get a good feel for the Canadian system before plunging headlong and getting my Canadian/Ontario registration by working as a Nurses Aide / Care worker type role. Ive been told that it would be a good idea to get PNP to boost my points ( currently around 328) - can I do this without registration/ a job first? I’ve no work/education in Canada and am 46 which is why I think my score is low…

Before even looking at CRS points, you need to calculate your eligibility points based on age, education (ECA), language, and work experience. You need 67 points and not sure if you have that because of your age. If you are and 328 is your score then you will not get an ITA through EE or OINP. The last EE-OINP draw was score of over 400.

If not eligible for EE, then OINP is only an option with a job offer. Again there are 9 OINP streams so you need to research each stream and the draws with scores.

You won't be able to move to Canada fast though. It will take month or two minimum to get your docs in place. Another month or two to get an ITA(if not longer!) and then subsequently you will submit a PR application which will take it's own time to process.
