I am helping someone file citizenship application. They haven't filed their 2023 taxes to date. They are in a rush to apply for citizenship and won't be filing the taxes before 31st March 2024.

Can they submit citizenship application right now without filing 2023 taxes?

To the income tax question for 2023 you need to answer Yes No.

With that you can submit citizenship application and file the returns later.
