I have submitted bank statements and tax return statements to prove we live together. Have also had employer provide statements about employment dates (not sure if this actually helps).

Hi, Thank you All for contributing. I feel still it is not clear from the point of view of IRCC. for example in my view they (IRCC) want that both were living in same country at same time.
In our case our we do not live with parents. We also own a house in that both countries, so no lease. We have joint accounts in Canada and other country for number of years. Utilities bills and bank statement (joint accounts) are available in both countries, either we are living or not in that country.

I believe it all comes down to passports exits & entry stamps, may be, what your opinion ?

Why don't we start from scratch: have you read the instructions? Submit what they ask for, no more, and see if they ask for more. If what you have are exit and entry stamps, and mail that shows addresses - submit that.

Employment evidence of the citizen-spouse abroad would also be strong evidence.
