In the case of inviting a non canadian mother to visit her daughter who is canadian .. but this mother is a second wife of her canadian father who is still legally married to a canadian first wife but separated for many years . Does this situation affect her visa application knowing she should provide information of marital status even if she was not applying through her husband but thier mutual daughter?

You cannot solve all the mysteries before applying, I would suggest apply first with what you got and you will find out, once you submit the application and if they feel they need more information they will ask you to provide that information, I hope this answer your query!

Yes this could impact the application because bigamy is illegal in Canada and there could be concerns that the 2nd wife is attempting to move to Canada permanently to be with her Canadian spouse. She will need to show strong ties to her home country.
