Need suggestion on PR processing

Hi guys,

I'm seeking clarification on future steps. Currently, I am on a closed work permit set to expire in October 2024, I got confirmation from employer that my work permit won't be extended, and my PR application is in process. My concern is if my work permit expires before I receive confirmation on PR, can I apply for a work permit based on my PR status to remain in Canada?

Please suggest.

It will be a problem as once you receive ITA you need to submit the reference letter referencing that the employer will support you after an year of you becoming PR.

Was your PR supported by an offer of employment that guaranteed a job after 1 year of PR?

If that's not the case, then once you get an ITA and are R10 pass, you are eligible for BOWP: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/work-canada/extend-permit/bridging-open-work-permit.html
