Police record from Honduras

Hi Everyone,

I am an Indian national who stayed in Honduras for 8-9 months so for my express entry profile I would need Constancia de Antecedentes Policiales and Constancia de Antecedentes Penales from Honduras. I am trying to contact some local Honduras attorneys to help me out but unable to understand the exact process. They say once they original document is received it should be sent for certificate of Authenticity before using it in another country Since Canada is not part of Apostille I need to get it authenticated by the Canadian consulate. Does anyone have experience with these process please help.

I don't believe you need to authenticate these documents. My sister applied recently to EE and had to get both documents and then translate them, but not authenticate them.

ok, Thanks a lot for the information. Now I will just request for original document and no need to get a certificate of authentication or apostille. Will just get it translated notarize the original document and upload everything to the IRCC portal. If you are aware can you please let me know if police and criminal records are still provided as hard copy because the Honduras lawyer I contacted said police record is only provided as soft copy which has a QR code on it which can be scanned for verification they do not provide hard copy. I believe IRCC doesn't accept the soft copy.

As far as I know, both certificates are provided as hard copies (I moved out of there two years ago, so I'm not sure if that changed). You can either request them personally or pay a lawyer to get them for you, which is what I believe you're doing.

My sister got invited for EE (she lives in Canada already) but just submitted one of the documents and got her application rejected. She's back in the pool waiting for a new ITA.

I can try to get you some more info later today or tomorrow on how you can get those certificates. I should warn you it won't be easy. They love to make things difficult for you there, so you end up bribing someone to get things faster (which is not what I would recommend you to do).

Yes please it would be really helpful to have details from someone who has gone through this process already so I am clear about the things I am supposed to obtain and submit. I will wait for your response. Thank you very much in advance.
