Question about the Physical Presence Calculator Dates in My Application

Hello!

I submitted my application on Oct 24th, received my AOR last week, I registered for the tracker as well, currently waiting for the test invite.

I'm confused about a date in my physical presence calculation. The calculator was asking me the date I became a "protected person" and I entered the "Date of Decision" date, which was November 1, 2018. A friend of mine applied recently, and he told me I should've entered the date on my "Notice of Decision", which is November 7, 2018. So, there's a difference of 6 days.

Is this a mistake? Will this be considered as a "mistake" by the IRCC officer? If it's a mistake, what should I do to correct it? I must add that the difference in dates doesn't affect my Physical Presence Eligibility, I have around 1250 days.

I don't know what you should have put.
But it probably won't matter much at all. You have a buffer that is more than large enough. 3 days (6 counting for half a day) still give you 1247 days, months more than the 1095 limit. People routinely forget a small vacation and IRCC doesn't care much, as long as the buffer was big enough.
If you want, send them a webform saying that your decision was on this date and your notice was on that date, that you were unsure which one to use, and that going with the latter will make this difference to your calculation.

Thanks a lot for replying! If I didn't make a mistake by putting the date of decision, I don't think I will contact them, as that might delay my application. Do they usually check those dates just for the Physical Presence Calculator?
