Starting this thread to see if this was a generic update like the one from March 2nd, 2023 or sent out to only a few. If there is anyone who did not get this update, please share.

From what I've seen, august and july applicants got a ghost update as well. so probably nothing.

edit: it seems like january, may and june applications got gu as well.

Yes, I did see that July and Aug applicants got the GU as well, so probably nothing to get too excited about .. blah!

my partner - Feb Applicant got that too! and it was after the usual update time - I check every morning around 7AM PST (by then any real updates if any are there already)- there was no update then but now I see the GU - so may be sent to all

Ghost Update does not mean a system update. At least to prove this, not everyone received GU this morning.

GU means your profile was touched and saved.

Let's wait 2-3 more days to see

Really are you sure it’s not everyone? Because based on FB, whatsapp n this forum seems everyone got a ghost update plus someone spoke to an agent n was told its a system update.
I finished my oath ceremony on the 17 n both myself n daughter got it aswell. So yes I think it’s a system wide update

@rushi.gada yes absolutely I really hoping it’s an actual update so many people who are waiting can be moved to the next step and oath.
Even I myself hoping for it to be an actual update on my end where the application is now closed n I get my certificate. Fingerscrossed

Hi everyone,
I got a ghost update today, too. I sent my application online in Nov 2021, got my AOR in Feb 2022, and passed my citizenship test in April 2023. I am waiting for LPP to be completed. I know that the only step of my security screening still pending is with CSIS.
This is the first update I saw on my profile since Apr this year.
How do you all contact CIC? Every time I call (888) 242-2100, I get a message that the lines are too busy and no agent can take my call. So, the call gets automatically disconnected.
My primary office is Vancouver Citizenship and the secondary office is CPC Sydney. Can you please help with sharing a contact number? Or any suggestion you might have for me? It has been 2 years since my application was submitted. Getting impatient here. :/

As for the GU, I am trying to be positive and hoping it means some good news will be coming our way though some believe it was just a system update. We can only wait and see in the coming days.
Contact them and say that it's already gone way past the processing timeline of 17 so they will make a note and let your officer know.

Seems like IRCC shook all citizenship application nationwide, it could be just genetic (fake) update, nothing special !!
