Well, the condition mentioned is "improve safety"... at the same time the High Commissioner and consul general have been spotted at public functions almost every day last few weeks. At least the consulate should stop posting those pictures unless the unsafe condition is only while sitting at the visa issuance desk.
But, whatever, it would be great if they find some excuse and restart e-Visa.

No. You have to apply in your Jurisdiction which is determined by your residential address. Not possible to apply elsewhere.

how would one measure progress? At least I haven't read about attacks on Indian diplomats or those of Indian origin since the drama started. Inhuman politicians shedding crocodile tears with zero consideration towards pain of normal people.

I personally know someone who cannot travel to India after losing a loved one. Can anyone cure that sorrow?

If you have any address proof in Ottawa. My sister resides in Toronto, but she wanted to apply for OCI from Ottawa. I think she had just her recent cellphone bill with Ottawa address. I think that's all needed. Confirm with their checklist what are the address proof accepted. They will send it to the Ottawa address

If I have already applied for OCI for my child, once e-visa opens up, is it ok for me to apply for the visa as well or will the consulate or BLS not accept the visa application or, even worse, reject the OCI application stating that now i have applied for e-visa?

You can apply for evisa..no issues

Oddly and sadly enough many will feel grateful to MEA and the Minister for their "benevolence" as soon as they resume visa services.

dude, canadian indians dont sent any money over to India. on the contrary billions of dollars each year are wired in by their Indian families for them to be able to buy their house, car and other necessities.

The politicians in Canada started this problem by sheltering and promoting Khalistani extremism, and India has all the rights to protect its reputation and respond in whatever way they deem fit, remember when you happily gave up Indian passport, you are a foreigner to India now. going to India is a privilege granted by Indian government to you, so be humble and grateful for that. Dont be demanding and aggressive. A lot of OCI also get cancelled when some foreigner thinks they can dump on India and Indians will take it lightly, remember Aatish Taseer case?

Go to Brampton, and look at the behaviour of Indians in Brampton, if we behave like garbage, we will be treated like one. There is a reason why no decent family wants to continue living there, and why auto insurance rates are high..

You're overthinking things a lot, guy...I conveyed my dissatisfaction with the visa prohibition. I'm not sure why we ought to suffer because of someone else's mistake. I believe both India and Canada is still democratic country, where we are free to agree or disagree with our political leaders and their policies, even its Modiji or Trudeauji
