Hello All,
I've obtained Canadian citizenship while in India. I'll in the midst of applying for my Canadian passport.
In order to get my OCI, I need to have an Indian Visa (which will be Entry visa for me) while I'm in India. Yes, I'll be surrendering my Indian passport as well.

Now, I don't see much information on applying for an Indian visa while present in India. These are the options I see and I would like to know if any one has faced such situation. Hope for some guidance here.

The website below tells us where to apply for an Indian visa.
https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/

Now, there are 2 options under Indian Mission/Office:
1. INDIA-ATTARI ROAD
2. INDIA-MEA DELHI (DIPLOMATIC VISA ONLY)

Upon choosing option 1 under Indian Mission/Office, the nationality that it shows is only Pakistan.
Upon choosing option 2 under Indian Mission/Office (INDIA-MEA DELHI (DIPLOMATIC VISA ONLY)). This takes me to different website.

So, this clearly leaves me with choosing option 2. Now, in here the instruction says I need to provide Note verbale and some protocol ID (see link below). So what should be given if I'm an ordinary person (meaning not a government affiliate)

Thanks for your help.

Last I heard that Govt of India has stopped processing of visa's for Canadian residents.
You maybe able to surrender you Indian citizenship in India, but I doubt (even in normal scenario) if you can apply for Visa for India residing in India.

This above link is meant for those applying from outside of India - it says so under the instructions

Instructions
A. Online application Form:-
  • This application form is meant for those foreigners who are applying for visa from outside India

You might find better information if you write to or call your local FRRO office in India - please update us as to what is allowed now because there is not much information on this board for this process. Do they allow you to apply for entry visa while in India, and then for OCI while in India?

I get that. I've seen it. But I didn't find any other link where I can apply which is within India. Would you happen to know?
