Hey everyone! I have been working and living in Canada for about 5 years now as a software developer, under LMIA based temporary work permits. Since I don't have a university degree, I don't have enough points for an express entry (my CRS score is just over 390 ).
I received an ITA for the OINP: Foreign Worker Stream, and submitted my application last month. It's a non-EE stream, so if all goes well, it will still take me about 2 years to get a PR.
However, I have just been promoted for a category 0 job position within my company, as Engineering Manager. That would increase my CRS score to about 540 points (+200 for the new job offer, -50 from the current job offer). If there's a draw and I am invited to apply, I could get a PR way earlier than 2 years, I suppose.
if I do get selected in a EE draw, can I apply for it concurrently to my OINP application? And finally, this is probably a no, but is there any possibility that I can cancel the application for OINP while receiving a refund, since I would no longer need to use the OINP stream? (it's been 20 days since I submitted)
And if I can't get a refund, would it be best to have both the OINP and the EE going and just see which gets approved first, if any at all?
Thank you!
