Does anyone know if it really does take 2 business days before you can apply for your Canada passport? My oath ceremony is this Wednesday and I am travelling on 20th September. The form says that you need to wait 2 business days before applying for the Canada passport. Does anyone know how to check that the details of citizenship have been inputted into the system? And if it has taken less than 2 days in the past? Due to work schedule, I would ideally love it if I can go in person to apply for expedited passport on friday.
Thank you

Did you apply for paper of e-certificate?
Paper has 2 business day waiting. e-certificate does not have any.

I will be receiving my certificate in person. Do you think there is a chance if I go on Friday they may have my info?

You can give it a try. Hopefully it gets updated beforehand and 2 days is the max time.
Thank you. Fingers crossed. Technically if they do it in time, I should have enough time to get the expedited passport within 24 hours. Just hope they do it in time. I also saw this for dual citizens to get a special authorisation if they are travelling and don’t have the passport yet as Canadian citizens. I wonder if this would work as a last resort
