Hello, hoping a few of you will have some idea on the best thing to do in my situation.
I applied for CEC inland and received AOR in early May. I thought that the application would have been approved by now but I am still in the background check step. My eligibility review has not yet started.
The issue is that I would like to leave Canada for ~1 year to undertake a study program abroad before coming back to Canada and hopefully becoming a citizen down the road. I already have an address abroad and am leaving in the next few days so it is extremely unlikely my application will be approved by then.
I’m looking for direction on what to do - should I just let the application get processed as it is and then return to Canada when the portal email comes (this will be hard for me as I will be in my school year) or do you know if it is possible for me the flip the application to Outland and receive ECOPR outside Canada and do a soft landing?
Any help is appreciated, Thanks!
