This is also my final update for the citizenship process, hopefully I will see some of you in the OCI process/Passport Applications thread. I know there are some toxic/rude/demanding people here, please don't get caught up on it- delays and technical issues happen- I had one issue in July, but they resolved it. I'm hoping for everyone to have a non-routine citizenship success story here- good luck everyone :)

Finally got my test invite!

My timeline:

May 27, 2023: Application Submitted
June 22, 2023: Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR)
June 22, 2023: Request for new foreign (USA) police certificate
July 2, 2023: Submitted police certificate via webform
July 4, 2023: IRCC email confirms receipt of police certificate
July 4, 2023: Fingerprints requested
July 10, 2023: Fingerprints submitted
July 26, 2023: Fingerprints received (no notification or update in tracker until July 29).
July 27, 2023: Background completed (no notification or update in tracker until July 29).
August 29, 2023: Citizenship Test updated to "In Progress." Test Window: September 1-21. (no update in tracker until August 31; No email with instructions yet.)

Congrats! I appreciate your words of encouragement. I find when you work in a service industry you have a better appreciation of what happens behind the scenes and give people a little more grace! I get it’s disappointing to be waiting….not knowing what is happening but it’s no excuse to be rude! I’m also waiting for the next steps and hoping we can all get through this is short order!

So I took the oath ceremony today- it was a lot of fun, but also absolute chaos. It was scheduled for 11am, but the IRCC agent did not let me into the call till 11.30am, then for 35mins we waited till we had a 1-on-1 interview with an agent where we had to cut our old PR card into 4 pieces. A lot of people were not muted or entered their name incorrectly, but eventually it was (I think) 88 people from mostly Western Canada. Some people dressed up, with some with decorative backgrounds. We did the oath ceremony in English and French (which was very funny), sang the anthem and they let us all go at 12.30pm. The ceremony itself is not long, but there is quite a lot of waiting.

Tracker still says 'waiting on you' for oath ceremony. They did not take any questions at the end of the ceremony.

Congratulations! And thank you for providing the details. I would get worried if I was waiting for 30 minutes to be admitted into the call. But now we'll know when it is time for us to take the oath.

Oh oh. I think its good. Means they are looking at your file. They haven't forgotten you. My only GU was July 21 but you have had 2 since then. But I can imagine the disappointment when you scroll down and see nothing. Very soon we will be cleared.

Please Follow my timeline .. I still have Background check & LPP in process & had 3 ghost update Aug 30,2023 (yesterday) but nothing change on tracker yet. Can I expect any written update on tracker soon?
