Student visa denied - any ideas on how i can improve my followup application ?

I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by paragraph R216(1)(b) of the IRPR (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/sor-2002-227/ section-216.html). I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will leave Canada, based on the following factors:

1. You do not have significant family ties outside Canada - My family lives in the UAE and I want to come back and support them (I put this in my SOP)

Show your own ties to India with job opportunities. Showing that you can buy a work permit will not help your case. IRCC wants to see that you will return so a work permit is not a good idea.

As above. The main issue is that you live in the UAE, and you are not Emirati. They know that mostly everyone in the UAE is there on a temporary basis, with your residence visa tied to an employer/sponsor.
I understand what you mean about the work permit being bought, it is not what the above posters think, but it will not help your case.

You need to show significant ties to India, and show you will be returning there. How you do that is up to you.

Incidentally, there are far better options than Canada for your proposed study path, and if you truly want to go back to the UAE to support your family then I would be looking elsewhere. However, if you're like the majority of Indian "students" who are just lying to get PR, then good luck when you find out the wages are low, the taxes are high and the winters never ending.

Here in the UAE we own a business with visa allocations, also you can buy a freelance visa direct from the gov

I am working on a Job offer from the family business here in the UAE. Perhaps that works out for me.

So it is your parents’ business? That is not a tie or a job offer. You will get the job anyways and not need to study in Canada because your father owns it. That is how IRCC sees it.

Doing a post grad certificate is really no benefit for a MBA. For MBA, focus is on work experience and undergrad grades

I should have clarified I have work experience of 2 years in my current field(product management) and 3 years doing other things(Apple, HTC, one or two unicorns in the region). I plan on doing a tech-focused MBA later on, possibly in the US to get into big tech there. I often can't compete in the local market due to kids from the bigger schools so hoping to work on that too. See getting a foreign degree goes a long way here, puts you on top of most Hrs piles of CV's.

You raised a very fair point on the other comment about my family owning the business. I have been actively involved in building it, from trade shows to building the platform we sell on. I would like some pointers on how I can show this in a positive light to IRCC.

While I don't want to do anything illegal, I want a change of scenery from the region quiet badly. I would also like to point out my partner lives over the border in the us (I plan on visiting them every now and then)

Have you been recieving a regular and full salary for the entire period you were working for the family owned business? Can you show regular salary payments into your bank account for that entire period that are equivalent to a full salary?

So you cannot show job experience. You are working in your family business for free.

If you want to do a MBA in the US, then focus on that. A Canadian post grad program is of no benefit in getting admission. And you aren’t getting a Canadian degree but a web development diploma, which can probably been done online.
