Congratulation
Also PNP Inland OAR July 14. Medical and Eligibility completed 27 July, then stuck at the Biometrics and Background in progress. In fact, they haven't sent me any BIL yet.
Thank you. It should be quick once Biometrics are completed. Took just 5 days in our case.

Hi there are you in the same boat ?
Yes. It's about BIL. Do I have to pay first before they send me BIL or shall I wait for them to make me pay? I submitted my application after June 14, so I assume I have to do biometrics again according to change in policy.

Update!!!

FSW-Inland
AOR: July 29
Old bio linked in GCkey: August 17
Medical completed: August 17 (According to tracker)
Created IRCC tracker: August 18

My biometrics and background check is in progress while eligibility is not yet started.
Anyone can confirm if this is normal? Also, I have not received BIL yet.

Hi

Yeah, exactly, AOR 1st, everything but BGC by the 10th/11th and then nothing at all since then. I still didn't even get a mail or GCKey update for eligibility. I wonder if they start processing the BGC at the time of the ITA and we're slow because we applied very soon after receiving ITA? My ITA was like 28 Jun and I applied just a few days after. Could also be that they're prioritising certain careers. Most likely we just got unlucky with visa office/r picks.
Yes, I suppose so. Honestly at this point it feels like they bite more than they could chew, completely have a mind of their own and you couldn’t suss any pattern out of them other than CEC being generally slower than the rest. Our friend gschostack from Brazil and I are both doctors. Her ITA was June 27, mine June 28. We had the same AOR date of July 17, yet I had all these updates within the first four days — which was very weird — while her updates were delayed until early August. Then she got PPR on August 17.

I’m thinking of calling IRCC.

Individual applications are different, hence the processing is different. Which is why AOR is never a good way to compare things. IRCC isn't doing a horrible job with processing this year. These things take time and we all have to wait them out.

I understand. It’s just that I’ve been waiting for an opportunity like this for literally eight years now, since I was still in school. I’d gone in there with my application last month expecting to just forget about it until I get it by January according to official standard times, then I read about the fast one-to-two-month approvals and my expectations swelled.

It’s gonna be fine.

Yep, that covers all the ideas I had. Only other thing I can think of is I'm assuming from your profile image that you're Egyptian, which probably makes you a more likely than average candidate for the extended BG screening. Although I wouldn't jump to that conclusion yet because I'm definitely not an obvious candidate for that and I've been on the BGC phase for longer.

I also thought of calling IRCC but would rather not mess around with the dodgy international number providers. Really sucks that they have no standard way to contact them from outside of CA besides the useless web form. Please do post here though if you end up calling them; I'm guessing all they'll say "your BGC is in progress" but at least that will give some clarity.

Of course it's probably just "different VOs, different visa officers, different outcomes" and we're stressing over nothing.

You’re both right. When I first found out about Canadian immigration, I was fascinated by the big cities like Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto like everyone else. Now I know it might be a much better bargain to go where most immigrants don’t! Somewhere the crowding isn’t too much, but opportunity isn’t too little, either.
