Hi,

I have spent over 6-7 months twice in the last 5 years in my home country. I take it I need to apply for a police certificate? I'd like to know do I apply for the police certificate from my embassy before filling out the citizenship application (i.e. now), or they will ask it from me in due course after I submit the citizenship application?

Thanks

To avoid unnecessary delays it is better to submit your citizenship application along with your Police Certificate and your police certificate must not be more than 6 month old from submission time.

Hi, I read a line in the application "If you were in your country of origin immediately prior to becoming a permanent resident and landing in Canada and this time falls within this four year period, you are not required to provide a police certificate. " .. Does this mean if I was in India (country of origin) in for more than 183 days in a row in the last 4 years, I don't need to submit the PCC. Sorry, I don't quite understand...

I am not sure, maybe this thread would help:
Also keep in mind that even if you meet their requirements, they can still ask for a Police Certificate.
