IMM 5669 - provided Incorrect information

Hi all,

We submitted my spouse’s PR application recently. Her visitor visa was rejected prior to PR application submission.
I just remembered that there was a Yes/No question in IMM5669, Background declaration form where they ask

"Have you or, any of your family members listed in this application, ever:
been refused refugee status, an immigrant or permanent resident visa (including a Certificat de Sélection du Québec [CSQ] or application to the Provincial Nominee Program) or a visitor or temporary resident visa, for Canada or any other country or territory?"

We don’t remember how we answered this. I’m worried if we’ve answered No by mistake instead of a Yes considering the previous Visitor visa refusal.
Now that application is submitted, we cannot view the submitted file and we haven't received AOR yet.

What are our options now? How can we verify if we have provided correct information here and rectify it?
What sort of problems will this cause?

Hey! Did you recieve your AOR? Could you submit the revised information? As it's been 5 months of your post I hope you can guide me for the same mistake I have done in our outland spousal PR application for Canada. Please help.

This is a serious error that can result in a refusal and also a misrepresentation ban. You need to correct it immediately. Send a webform to IRCC.

This link does ask for application number. But we haven't yet recieved the AOR. It's just been 5 days of submission. How to fill webform without application number. ? Once they send AOR then and then only i get allocation number in it? How to inform them before that?

You will have to wait till u receive aor and application number because at this moment how will they identity you when you msg them. I had made a similar error, so I had attached sponsors uci and application number.

‘but do make sure you reach out to them once u receive an AOR. if you are unsure what you have uploaded you can download your submitted forms from the PR portal, just Log in there to check If that option has been enabled yet for you.

‘if the principal applicant has had any Canadian visa before, they will have a uci on their visa sticker. This uci is for life and you can use that to help them identify your application.

it’s important you reach out to them once you get an aor since even an unintentional error may lead to serious consequences. But just wait till you receive an aor, so at least the sponsor uci and application number can be used to attach the info you provide to the application.

Applicants/sponsors in this situation should write to IRCC by webform BEFORE AOR, even if they don't have UCI numbers. Provide all identifying information (names DOB etc) and hopefully IRCC will match the files and correct. It will take longer however.

Sorry, don't know how to do the webform without uci number, but know it's possible.

As I read this message, I was alarmed and I reviewed right away my application for Family Sponsorship, Other Relatives, Adult. (I am the Principal Applicant) I realized that I had made the same mistake.
But my Background Check was completed on July 5. My Eligibility status started progress on March 20, and currently not completed yet.
Is it too late for me to send a web form to IRCC?

I'm not judging anyone. Selective memory is deliberate and a choice. It can get you into trouble. Always best to be honest

In your opinion. There is a reason it’s called a ‘mistake’. Some people may be lying and some people make a honest mistake on forms. When someone asks a question here, we as a community provide advice and support to guide them and to not chide them.
