It seems that IRCC has forgotten my application at all . I called them yesterday to ask about the updated status of my application (still stuck in the not started security check for 1.5 months ). They have not updated my tracker today with "We received your inquiry"!!!

I hope the anti immigrant rhetoric fueled by media that Immigrants are leading to increased rent and house prices, burden on healthcare, child care are not sub-consciously affecting IRCC to slow down applications.

I don't think IRCC is doing anything because of that right now.

About immigration and housing - that's a supply and demand problem. Canada definitely has low supply(won't comment on why, but the supply is low), extremely greedy real estate owners - so definitely can't say that immigration isn't causing increased rents and real estate prices. When you bring in nearly a million TRV while your core inventory only grows with 10k-50k in major cities, that's going to cause issues. On top of that new construction is messed up as prices of commodities are up and it is no longer lucrative for construction companies to keep building at a high pace(construction is 50% cost cap game).

As new immigrants, we can't say that this isn't happening. It will be a big lie. We aren't directly causing this issue though(it is just lack of inventory!), but we are definitely contributing to it(by consuming inventory in a crisis).

Mine has been not started since 1st may. Lol. It’s going to be exact 3 months on the 1st. If your VO is Sydney you are not alone. Lol.
Received CBSA notes yesterday and in it it’s mentioned security not started. Last update date is 1st may.

Regarding my ADR case, it was updated on the tracker one month ago, whereas no acknowledgment email received or updates on the GCKey till now!

I remember last June, I used to receive updates every week. I thought that my PR final decision was very close. After receiving an ADR request on June 28, my application entered a black hole! It is in complete silence with no updates at all for almost one month!
I ordered GCMS notes to understand the reason for my ADR request, but there was not any explanation provided!
In summary, after my eligibility was passed without any issues and the criminality and info sharing were complete, rather than starting my security check which is the only remaining step for the final decision, the officer decided to send me a "general" ADR (general as stated in the GCMS notes without any explanation) to request my CV!!! I sent my resume on the same day, but no updates till now. It seems that my application was gotten out of the processing queue and I am awaiting my officer to return it back. This is my story

I am in the same boat. Stuck in Background Verification at Sydney VO since June 09. Called twice to get status update and Security status was In progress both times.

If security is started then your is ahead of most others. Even some Nov'22 AOR have security not been started by Sydney for many months now. You case should close soon.

Also most who got an ADR for a CV seem to be from Iran, China or Russia. Honestly its pretty weird that they specifically asked for my Master's field of study and advisor, because that's on my diploma and transcripts which I already uploaded.

Well, I got an ADR about military records when there is no military conscription in my country of origin, probably we cannot overthink this ADR stuff. How do you know you are in security hell though? Have you ordered your GCMS?

Yeah I'm from China. Maybe they saw Singapore in your travel history and requested one to be safe? I don't technically know I'm in security hell, but a lot of applicants who ordered CBSA notes found out that the date their security started was the date when their tracker had this update that corresponded to the console entry with key security and actStatus 17. The security situation is pretty hardcore for chinese applicants recently, particularly if you work in tech. They're even screening study visas if you're applying for a STEM progam. I'm probably gonna wait a month or two before ordering CSIS and CBSA notes, and if the CSIS notes say "in progress" I guess I'll just give up thinking about landing this year.

Regarding my case, I am not from Iran, China, or Russia. I heard that they usually ask for CVs for EE PNP applications, which is my case. One of my friends, an EE PNP applicant, received the CV ADR request too 3 weeks ago. They only requested from me a brief description of my education, skills, and qualifications.
