There's a cap on H1-B and current wait time is at least 10 years for Chinese or Indians so I'm thinking about making some money and switch to E-2 visa (100K USD will suffice) which is pretty much like a green card. You can renew it indefinitely instead of needing an employer.
After getting the E-2, do you still need a 100k job to keep it afterwards?

I got my TN status today but they didn’t put any stamp or any visa in the passport. Is it common? They told me to show I-94 at the border crossing. My I94 is showing TN status until 2026

As long as your I-94 shows it, I don't think it's a problem.
What documents did u provide?
Under which job category did u apply?

Engineer category. I provided TN visa support letter, my bachelor degree and transcript. My engineering is from outside Canada so I had to provide equivalency as well. I also provided my resume. that is all.

How to show equivalency? Something like WES?

One question:
Post accepting the job in the US (with a TN visa) and making an entry, are there restrictions on performing remote work for an extended period by physically being in Canada?

Essentially earn in USD, stay in Canada?
Pretty sure there is no issue from a Canadian immigration standpoint, but how about the US?
Does a TN visa mean that I need to be physically present in the US for most of the duration?

Yes, education evaluation but I think it has to be done by an American firm.

You should ask CBP about this.

Yes, education evaluation but I think it has to be done by an American firm.

WES website claims that it is sufficient.
