CEC outland dependent - COPR expiring next week but no COPR

I am looking to see if anyone has been in this position recently. I am an outland dependent for CEC from the UK. My partner finally has his eCOPR, and aside from getting his PR card he is basically completed.

We had to move back to the UK before getting our PR approved (all of this was in our application, so hasn’t affected approval - we were just hoping to get approved before we left, it ended up taking 7/8 months, we seem to be very unfortunate in that regard) and in typical fashion got approved two weeks after getting back. We got our first portal email, and my partner booked a flight and told them he‘d be back in Canada in June, and I said I would be back in November, which was my plan due to work and avoiding extra international travel. My partner needs to land before me and would have been travelling after November, so this all made the most sense.

They kept his landing process inland, so just booted it back up to a portal landing when he got back to Canada. They converted me, however, to an outland process. Not a huge problem, just a bit annoying as I assumed they would just kick start an inland landing in November, but I guess it’s their discretion.

So I submit my package to VFS on June 1st (photos, passport copy as they don‘t need physical passport for UK, and other bits they asked for), confirmed that it’s with IRCC on June 8th. And ever since then, nothing. We‘ve had our MP on IRCC for months now ever since we went over the 6 month processing time, when my partner was waiting over three weeks for portal emails etc, and now helping me. We’ve submitted web forms, called VFS (probably the most useless customer service in this whole process beyond even IRCC, I feel bad for the workers but they just recite scripts about visas and passports to you until you give up), and nothing.

My concern is that on our tracker, my medical is due to expire July 22nd 2023, and I also have a document number for my COPR and an expiry date of July 18th 2023. Which is next week. I had a flight booked for July 13th - 20th which I had to cancel as it was clear I wasn’t going to get my COPR by then. But now I‘m crazy stressed because I feel the worst case scenario will be that the COPR expires, despite the fact that I don’t have it and have tried countless ways to check it’s status, and that my PR application will be cancelled because of some error somewhere. All of this is because of their delays, but I don’t know how strict they will be when it comes to it. I’m hoping that when they process it they’ll just extend the expiry date because they can’t be bothered to do anything else to draw out this process, but I just can’t find examples of other people in a situation like this that isn’t delays to due covid.

Hey did you get any update on this, did your COPR arrive?
hey! yes it did, still was a bit of a whirlwind. only july 12th (6 days before landing expiry) i had an email from IRCC asking if i was still in canada. lol! long story short, i said no, and they basically said oh don’t worry we’ll extend your deadline and just tell us when you’re back in canada and do an eCOPR.

at this point my partner was hounding our poor MP’s office every day basically. they eventually pushed us through to an urgent processing something or other given my deadline and lack of anything, and i think that triggered them to email me directly. so all good, i tell them i’m back in november, my expiry was changed to early december but that’s fine because eCOPR should be faster than that anyway.

anyway, the day AFTER my deadline (july 19th) i get the “a decision envelope is on its way” email from VFS. i figure they’ve probably cancelled the paper COPR and are just mailing to confirm. but nope, lol, six days after that my COPR arrives in the post.

stupid system. anyway, i’ll try landing with the COPR since it all looks valid, then i don’t have to deal with the portal.
