Hello everyone,
I have just gotten the update for the Oath ceremony July 21st
We are travelling on July 15th for 5 weeks, we have been saving for this trip for over 2 years. Unfortunately we can't postpone as we will lose a lot of money and the logistics are impossible.
Has anyone postponed the Oath? How did you do that?Do they set the new date immediately?
My processing office is Scarborough.
Its the last thing I want to do after waiting for so long. Im also worried our file gets pushed down the pile

Rescheduling can be tricky. Sometimes it happens quickly and sometimes it takes a lot of time. Also IRCC these days fumes for rescheduling request for non serious reasons as its a Notice to appear and not an invite. You can reply to the oath email as it has steps mentioned for it.

IRCC requires you to let them know when you plan to leave Canada for more than 2 weeks. Did you let IRCC know of your travel plans when you made them?

If so, rescheduling should not be a problem. Either respond to the oath invite email, or if you are yet to receive the email, send an email to your processing office and submit a webform Requesting a reschedule, providing them reasons and information of when you will be back in Canada.

Usually you will get scheduled soon after you return (within a month or so). You might have to provide proof of return. It is advisable to do this proactively soon after you return.

If you did not inform IRCC of your travel before, there is a chance they will deny a reschedule and expect you to make it for the oath ceremony. This is not common but has happened to a few people. You will have to change your travel plans or your application will be denied and you will have to start from scratch. Again, this is unlikely to happen. They usually allow reschedule even if you didn’t inform them of travel before hand.

December 2021 online applicant. LPP completed first half of the June. Waiting for oath. Feels like we are the last remaining in 2021.

My LPP was recently completed after an Interview. If you lived in the US in the past 5 years, get FBI Clearance. That was the one pending for me, was asked during the Interview to submit.
Now waiting for Oath.

I submitted in Oct 2021 and I only got test invite in June 2023, lol. LPP and oath is long way to go…

Oh that’s a first. I usually see LPP clearing together or very close after each other.

i wonder if you actually cleared Prohibitions, but it is just your tracker that isn’t updated. Your GCMS notes would reflect actual status.

When you call what do they tell you? As background is complete for you. Did you take your MP's help?

They say they do not need anything else as they have all documents and it is under process, and I should wait.
MP also does not do much since last summer. They are following up and just follow up each 3-4 months. It is really weird they do not schedule the test after 21 months. MP is kind of useless for my case, as they just return back to me the same thing IRCC tells me.
