SOWP Extension Opt-in not received

Hi,
My partner entered Canada on June7 on SOWP and has not received opt-in on his gckey.
I am looking to extend his SOWP, what is the procedure? Our WP expire on 27 sept 2023, both his and mine. I have received my AOR but could not apply for bridging WP since my passport has been sent for renewal.
What are the options that he has since while applying for SOWP extension, ircc needs Family Member Proof of Status. I am concerned that since my WP is expiring in Sept as well, his extension could get rejected.

I applied for FSWP from within Canada got ITA in March 2023. My spouse was not added to my application. I submitted my documents and received AOR in May 2023. He came to Canada in June 2023 on SOWP which was based on my PGWP.
