Was this time spent in US after you applied for citizenship? Also do you live in the US?We completed our interview on 22nd June and where asked to provide additional documents - Arrival/Departure history from the US and FBI clearance certificate for our time spent there.
The wait continues.
It was for time spent in the US. In the 5 years prior to applying for citizenship, I spent 2 years in the US.Was this time spent in US after you applied for citizenship? Also do you live in the US?
Thanks for clarifying. It was for time spent in the US. In the 5 years prior to applying for citizenship, I spent 2 years in the US.
I live in Canada now.
Did they send you a separate request or asked verbally? We completed our interview on 22nd June and where asked to provide additional documents - Arrival/Departure history from the US and FBI clearance certificate for our time spent there.
The wait continues.
We had an interview, was told verbally and was sent an email the same day requesting to submit it within 30 days.Did they send you a separate request or asked verbally?
I kind of have a similar situation, and I never got a proper request.
Damn, I had an interview and was told they're gonna request a bunch of documents. And now, a month later, a complete silence. I even sent them 2 emails to the same address from where they invited me asking when are they gonna tell me exactly and in what format they need. Don't know what to do.We had an interview, was told verbally and was sent an email the same day requesting to submit it within 30 days.
I've always wondered HOW they decided whom they wanted to interview and whom not.Damn, I had an interview and was told they're gonna request a bunch of documents. I was also in states and other places for almost 3 years.
I think it's probably random. My friend, who never left Canada for the past 5 years, was interviewed too (in Scarborough).I've always wondered HOW they decided whom they wanted to interview and whom not.
Was your friend self employed?I think it's probably random. My friend, who never left Canada for the past 5 years, was interviewed too (in Scarborough).
I think the interview is completely random. Prior to covid, every candidate was interviewed. They stopped the interviews during covid and are now bringing it back slowly. Was your friend self employed?
From what I hear that is another reason for being called to interview. When the employment history is not straight forward it could lead to an interview. This is because a stable reputable job is evidence that the person was indeed in Canada, whereas when someone is self employed it is easier to faked presence in Canada.
Third reason I hear is if anything was found suspicious from the virtual test footage - person’s look not matching the photo in the ID, suspicions of cheating etc.
I personally don’t think the interview is random.
