Child Care benefits for new comers on work permit

Hi, this thread has already been helpful. But there's one thing that I've never found anywhere. My temporary residency started on 5th of January 2022, so 18 months later is 5th of July 2023. But how are the months being counted? Does the January count as a full month, or is February the first full month? Or does the 19th month actually start on July 5th?

I just want to hand in my application as soon as possible, but I don't want it turned down. Should I apply on July 1st, July 5th, or August 1st?

You can hand in your application after completion of 18 full months which should be Aug 1st.

Just clarifying but what was your status in January 2022? Student? Worker?

I also have newborn in Canada. Does he also have to wait for same 18 months since we are temporary residents?

No I asked this question last week not in January. However, didn't find any answer. Because there is new born (Citizen) not sure same rule apply to him. Hence asked again.

Having a Canadian child is not a benefit. The rules apply to you, not the child.

But in this context the benefit is to the child only. That's why it called Child benefit. Its not that citizenship is being used for PR or any other thing.

It is a child benefit for you to raise your child based on your income. You are given the money, not your child. It is paid through CRA and your account.

You need to secure a job offer from an employer in Canada first. There are no jobs or employers on this forum. You need to apply for jobs through sites such as indeed and linkedin.
