What happens after you apply for first PR card upon landing at Toronto Airport?

Hi,
I landed or the first time last week and the border officer applied for my first PR card. What happens next? Will the card just magically appear in my inbox? Or should I expect any updates? I don't see any updates in my GC Key. Please share your experience. Thank you!

Pre-Assessed..
The card will eventually arrive in your residential mailbox, not an email `inbox', obviously. You will likely not receive any updates.

And if I may offer some advice...make sure that YOU track each and every exit/entry from/to Canada (even day trips across a land PoE) in some sort of travel log, because you WILL need that data when you apply to renew your card in 5 years!

Congrats!

Hi @CNP can Iink my PR card application even tho I didn't receive any info about it? The border officer just applied for it but didn't give me a receipt. Was I supposed to get some kind of receipt/ application number?

Yes you can link as the pr card process would have been already triggered by officer. They dont hand over any receipt.

Additionally I would suggest you to call IRCC and confirm that the address is captured correctly for mailing your pr card.

EDIT - as soon as you link, you would see the pr card application number ( starts with "R")

Hi @CNP I see in your signature that your card was mailed but then returned to IRCC. What happened?

Canada post deemed my address as undeliverable. that was strange as I was receiving my other mails on the same address. I therefore suggested you to call IRCC and confirm if the officer correctly captured your address :)

A very recent case where IRCC screwed up the address - https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/receiving-first-pr-card-after-landing.804555/#post-10501941
