This is an open question. You cannot request in this case and IMO we need to wait for strike to end and then see what they plan to do with cancelled ceremonies.

I am just worried they reschedule in 3-4 months range as they used to do with regular rescheduling. It is really a slow process.

I believe the cancelled ceremonies will be processed on priority basis. I think the oath processing is different from application processing. Also, since all the application processes are halted, so it will be different than regular rescheduling

Oath scheduling should not take that long under any circumstances. After my LPP was completed (approx. March 10), I was scheduled for April 24th oath (that is about 1.5 months).

So, in the worst case scenario, it should take about a bit over a month after the strike ends, depending on how many people were ahead of you when the strike happened.

Hopefully by then, the proposal for self-administered oaths will be approved and put into effect
The biggest problem I see with this (at least for those of us who were already scheduled for an oath), is they might not offer “self-administered” oaths to us. They may give that option only to newly completed applicants who have not yet been scheduled.

It will still be good since the entire staff will be free to do the ceremonies for the pending applications.

I am really frustrated to see my ceremony cancelled. I have been waiting for that~~~. My application is over 2 years in processing (Feb2021). and I got my ceremony invitation late March which got my excited :). I was actually planning to do some traveling after wards.

Plus rescheduling, I suggest they refund us the application fee :)

Good on ya for saying Please!..4x LOL!

Why not make your travel plans anyway? No reason to wait!
Sort of like opening a gift well before your birthday. How early...is anyone's guess.

Stressful time I'm sure...for many people. Hopefully it will be resolved soon.

I personally think this is a different situation, I strongly believe priority will be given to those that got cancelled as a result of the strike, it's just pure common sense afterall nobody is gets scheduled for ceremonies two months in advance and since they will be starting of a self-administered oat taking in June, I don't see this taking too long. *This is just my positivity self talking* I choose to remain positive regardless of the alternative.

Most of my friends who are in fed jobs and some in IRCC are wiling to go to work but their hands are tied. My IRCC friend also agree that many lazy people in her department that brings bad name to all.I never felt happy with IRCC service. I don’t buy many lazy people idea though it is partially true. When they increase staff and they increase number of applications for PR, REFUGEE, etc. hence there is less or no impact on processing time. I can say gov wants fee money from immigrant applications so they let more and more applications. Govn all the time says how much money the give extra for IRCC but they never( if I’m not wrong) showed how much money they made via processing fees. In my opinion, both govt and fed workers are not honest with tax payers. The only question here is who is more dishonest to tax payer. Currently, government wants to show fed workers but fed workers want to show government. Guess what, tax payer need to sponsor their drama.

Looks like no more oath ceremonies have been scheduled since the start of the strike so I strongly believe the cancelled ceremonies will be prioritized at the first time.

Could anyone share the link again regarding the scheduled ceremony information on IRCC?
