My partner and I just submitted my PR application and their Sponsorship application. Hoping the current strike doesn't brutally extend wait times. I'm interested to know if anyone knows an average wait time for American's applying for PR under Outland Sponsorship?

Congrats!

You should probably watch/contribute to one (or more) of these threads:

The PSAC strike may be intensifying, since the picket lines are been moved to other more `strategic' locations. It really is anyone's guess how this will delay your application, but...it likely will indeed.

Just saw your other post from Sept. 2019:
Hello all,
I am new to this forum. My partner received Canadian PR and moved to Canada in April of 2019. Previously after 7 years of dating we moved in together in April of 2018 as we knew we needed to live together for 12 months for him to sponsor me for PR. In January of 2019, I was transferred for work about 4 hours from our home. I had to get another apartment as I could not drive 8 hours a day, but I came home every weekend and structured my schedule so I could have three days off to come back home. We continued to pay bill in both our names from our primary address, have shared bank accounts ect... As we preparing our application, I see there are considerations made for time apart, but would our situation not even be worth applying under the Common Law class? I would appreciate any comments or advice. Thanks all
Did your partner land as a PR in April 2019 and also move to Canada that same month? More importantly, what date did the two of you begin cohabiting in April 2018?

I Just saw this response. My partner landed in March of 2018 and moved to Canada in April of 2019. We ended up getting married this year instead of having to apply under common law.

As an aside...Since it appears that you cross the border frequently, you would be wise to keep very accurate records regarding your exit/entry dates from/to Canada...even day trips! When it's time for you to apply for a renewed PR Card (after 5 years) you will need to show each and every exit/entry. You will be able to give permission to IRCC to obtain your travel history from CBSA, but since you will have to populate the Travel History section of the renewal application before you submit it...you need to have the information. IRCC will simply cross check that from information from CBSA.

This surprises a lot of PRs, so knowing what to do ahead of time will make it much easier for you when it's time to renew your card.

Thanks for that tip! It was a hassle when I applied for PR, due to having to report all my entries and exits from the US...thankfully I remembered I have a EZ Pass for the bridge toll and I used that. But excellent point, I think I'll have to keep a diary in the car....LOL
