Sweet Surprise my tracker is updated for Eligibility: Completed and BG: In Progress, Looks like some temperory worker changed it good thing in these anxious moments , main thing the last updated actually changed to today date from March 20, I think it might have changed for everyone

Wow that means somethings are still moving ahead even with the strike.

As per - https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/labour-disruptions.html, For processing applications - "There will be limited capacity during a strike, so delays in processing are expected. This includes delays to applications currently being prioritized. " . So, I am just trying to be optimistic that processing is not completely stopped

Yup, the date got updated for me as well in the tracker. There is no change though, since all steps were already in 'completed' state earlier.

Congratulations! I got the AOR and Portal 1 email on same day as yours. Portal 2 on 17th Apr. Now waiting for eCOPR. Hopefully will get it soon.

I am unable to create tracker account. every time it shows details mismatch.
My email id is with the agent so I am not aware about ghost updates
So please guide me with your experience how could I get to know about my application status

Is it normal for background verification to be in progress in tracker while eligibility is not started? I was under the impression that background verification was the last thing to get updated & completed? Not sure if those who have had PR are still on here, but anyone had their BG verification completed before eligibility?

It’s uncommon, but there were a few instances where BG completed before eligibility

The scenario was different before but Last day background check for most of the people changed to In Progress, seems like IRCC might have updated the process and everyone that had criminality passed now has background check as In Progress in tracker vs not started.

It used to be that way, but I think it's not entirely uncommon that now applicants may get their background check completed (by CSIS) first before eligibility even starts. I have my security/background completed on Jan 31, and eligibility starts being reviewed on Feb 21.

so far common belief was that once eligibility is confirmed then only ircc would start doing background check which makes sense as why waste time and energy on candidates who don’t even pass eligibility. my guess is, it’s just lack of updates from different officers who will not mark eligibility completed and wait until final results
