Hi,
I submitted my citizenship application along with my wife and a daughter , in October 2020. We passed the test in Feb 2022 and since then there was no progress except that my wife's background verification status changed back to "In Progress" in March 2022 and then changed back to "Completed" in Jan 2023.
After exhausting all options to get an answer, I reached out to the Minister of Immigration office and received this response.
"Departmental records show that your application was assigned to a special project at the Case Processing Centre in Sydney, where it is currently pending further review by an officer. Once this review is completed, you will be advised of the next stage of processing. If your application is successful, you will be granted Canadian citizenship and receive a citizenship certificate. More information about the various stages of processing can be found in the application guide."
Anyone knows what this means? Also, I am in Calgary so don't know why my application is in Sydney.
My application should be fairly straight forward, so I wasn't expecting anything out of ordinary.
Any advice/ideas will be appreciated.
Regards,
