Services partially or fully disruptedGuy's, I'm creating this thread for most of us scheduled for oath ceremony, coming up sooner April/May rather than later.
Just wondering if the strike will affect our ceremony. Will they reschedule?? Let's discuss!!
Oh boy!!! This isn't good at all, I hope they labor don't go for long if they don't reach a better agreement with the Government officials.Services partially or fully disrupted
In the event of a labour disruption, like most Government of Canada services, most IRCC services would be impacted. You should expect delays with:
As we learn more about a possible labour disruption, we will continue to update this page to tell you how services may be impacted.
- processing applications
- in-person appointments or events including citizenship ceremonies
- contacting IRCC via email, phone or social media

Man this isn't good at all, I hope they don't go on a very long one.Members of Canada's largest public sector union have voted in favour of a strike mandate affecting more than 120,000 public servants.
Last week, 35,000 Canada Revenue Agency workers voted in favour of strike action. That means more than 155,000 public servants from five large bargaining groups could be in a legal strike position by the end of this week.
OMG!! That’s somewhat of a relief to hear!I spoke to a friend of mine working with CRA yesterday and they mentioned they have agreed to go for discussion rather than go for strike right now.
Thank Jesus!!!! Omg I'm so happy rn, my oath date is on the 8th of May.I spoke to a friend of mine working with CRA yesterday and they mentioned they have agreed to go for discussion rather than go for strike right now.
Same here!!! Been shitting my pants since I learned about the upcoming strike, I have my oath ceremony coming up on the 8th May. Keeping my fingers crossed too, hopefully we all achieve our dreams.OMG!! That’s somewhat of a relief to hear!
Keeping my fingers crossed for all of us! I have tickets booked for early June, and I’m beyond stressed out over this!!!
There is nothing in the news cycle to corroborate that.I spoke to a friend of mine working with CRA yesterday and they mentioned they have agreed to go for discussion rather than go for strike right now.
Thanks for that link. After carefully reading that article, I'm fairly optimistic that a strike is not imminent. Specifically the following quotes by the Union's president and one from a government official:"A spokesperson for Treasury Board President Mona Fortier said in a statement Wednesday afternoon their goal is to reach a deal at the bargaining table as soon as possible, and they believe "significant headway" has been made in the last week.
