Applying for TRV while SOWP is in process

I have applied for my spouse's SOWP but the processing time is over a year and my PGWP also expires in a year.
I thought that I could also apply for her visit visa in the meantime. I know it could be a conflict of interest as TRV is for a shorter stay and SOWP is for longer.
Has anyone done this before and can provide some insights, please?

At the time, i wasn't thinking of applying for SOWP but now i have applied for SOWP after some research but since the processing time is long so i thought maybe TRV application could be placed in parallel if that's possible

Also, what if my TRV comes first? Can i withdraw my SOWP application and get the refund (maybe partially) ?

You can withdraw. Refund depends on whether processed or not.

Don’t know. Refund policies are on the IRCC website. Why mention withdrawal for SOWP which shows that spouse wants to live and work in Canada. And now applying just to visit.
