Maybe I'll do it too. It's odd that so many in our group got processed this week and a few of us were skipped
Not to be ~that~ person, but it seems really really stupid that people who applied after us are already totally done with the process and we are just waiting for who even knows what.
Hi everyone just wondering if some of you have the same issue with his citizenship application.
I applied on 10th of February 2022
AOR 21st of March 2022
Test in progress 12th of October 2022
Took the test on 13th of November 2022
Test completed on the tracker 23rd of November 2022
Ghost update 16th of December 2022
Ghost update 6th of January 2023
Ghost update 10th January 2023
After that nothing changed still my background and the others in progress.
Montreal office (online application)
Is it normal or someone in the same boat? Let me hear your thoughts about my timeline.. And thank you in advance.

exactly as mine only that i took my test oct 21 and test completed oct 25, i also got the Ghost update Dec 16th and nothing since then. My application is inthe scarborough office.
I would say don't fret, it will all come. goodluck to the guys waiting, Canada Immigration likes to take their sweet time!!!
i doubt i will have to do fingerprinting as my Biometric is still valid. But nothing is impossible with this guys eh?
Biometrics submitted for PR/Visa processing is different from BG verification for Citizenship. For PR/Visa IRCC uses it as a form of identification- to prove you are who you say you are. For Citizenship processing, fingerprinting if requested is directly submitted to RCMP to process your criminal record check... Hope this clarifies the difference

I hear you! Been waiting since October 2021. There is no logic to how IRCC processes the applications.
I responded to the test invite email. This is the auto-response.

They are processed on a first-come first served basis. However, not all applications are the same. For some people, the background check is prolonged because of their countries of origin, maybe people with similar names, travel history, or any other delay. Imagine if they stopped processing every case as soon as they got to a "slow case", if they did that then nobody would get their applications processed in time. The application process is very complex and we don't know all the details of it, I don't personally believe there is any discrimination or favoritism.
This forum is useful to have an idea of the timelines, but it's also anxiety-inducing. Take a step back, and take It easy even if it's not the easiest thing. It's not worth it to cause so much anxiety on yourself over a process that you have absolutely no control over.
Also, for the people who are getting ghost updates, that's good. It means that officers are working on your case. If you haven't been asked for FP then you will probably be asked soon. FP asked for PR purposes do not carry over to Citizenship. I was asked for FP in both processes.
