I have received an email from IRCC, see text below. I know I am not exempt, but the email does not say about what I need to do after taking the examination, any idea?. Besides, is this an AOR and do I need to use the client number in the email to link anything?

Exemption from Having to Complete an Additional Immigration Medical Exam
Dear client CAN000xxxxxxxx,

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has put in place a temporary public policy that exempts some low-risk, in-Canada foreign nationals from having to complete an additional immigration medical exam as part of their application for permanent residence or for a permanent resident visa.

If you have completed an Immigration Medical exam (IME) within the last 5 years, include your IME or UMI number when you submit your online application for permanent residency. IRCC will process your permanent resident application with your previous medical exam results and notify you of next steps.

If you have not previously completed an IME, please complete one before you submit your application.

Thank you for your interest in Canada.

Hello!

Did you guys also get this email from IRCC? I wonder if it's just a simple notification for all IRCC clients or it's something else.

Btw I needed an IME because I completed the previous one more than 5 years ago so I did it before submitting the application, and then added the form as an additional document to my application.

CAN000XX.. its to all applicants who have profile in Express Entry pool. They basically trying to say if you have one "within" last 5 years, you don't need one (in-lands folks) and mention your IME in the application (that is after EE ITA) and if you don't have one or has been expired, then get the medical done before application submission in EE.

Hi everyone,

I just thought to share. I believe IRCC now has a mandate to make decision/give portal 1 to applicants 6 months from the time they receive their AOR. I called IRCC about a week ago after I received PAL and they told me they are still within the timeframe of my application and the deadline for decision is Feb 17,2023 ( I received my AOR September 16,2022).

I have also noticed a trend both on here and on the FB page that many who got portal or even COPR did within 6 months of their AOR. At the moment, most August 2022 AOR receivers (atleast those who don’t have issues with their files have gotten portal) and we can now start to expect September AOR receivers to start getting portal 1 and approvals

It makes sense cause their goal is to process all non-express entry applications within 11 months.

Thank you for this post. I hate speculating, so can you please provide basis for your belief? Assuming what you say is true, then people who get an AOR in 1 month (which is happening... look at the spreadsheet) can expect Portal 1 in effectively an insignificantly longer time that CEC which is nuts!

Everyone’s case is unique and I can’t be the judge of how long people wait. I have seen people receive portal as quick as 3 months after AOR.
I only posted the above based on info I received from IRCC concerning my application and trends I have seen in the non ee pnp groups.
Also, I think calling IRCC and specifically asking them for the timeline of your application will help alot
