Every single company here asks you DSA/SD questions (maybe, not every one but majority of them worth working for). 90-100K for a mid-level is def. possible. The issue is that it's actually easier to get into FAANG than local company. Why? Because FAANG doesn't really care about who you were before and your education. I mean they care but to lesser extend. You will most likely get an interview. The problem is passing those interviews. The problem is with those 90-100K companies because they would always prefer someone local, which makes sense. However, due to constant flow of immigrants, those newcomers that were SWE back home have to take ANY job they can to survive. Their skills deteriorate; if you don't code for 6-12 months, it's foolish to think you will pass a tech. interview. You have to prep for it but now you have a gap in your CV where you did Timmies job. Now, you are way less attractive to companies. After 6-12 months you will get a tech. job but not on 90-100K salary. Maybe QA. Maybe data analytics. Something to get a decent job. From now on, it's really up to a person and his character. Some say "heck no. Gotta grind and move back to SWE". Others (majority) say: "I am ok. Yes, money is not good but the job is stable and I can watch Netflix with my wife in the evening". Now, people who want to get back to SWE start fighting with new immigrants, recent graduates, Canadian SWE for those small number of jobs that are out there. This will take 6-12 months just to get a decent SWE (not talking about FAANG) job. A person has spend 2 years in Canada already.
So yeah, man. I am not looking for anything. I am just saying how things are in here. It's up to a prospective immigrant to believe it or not.
BTW, salaries you wrote down are ridic. 140K for a lead position? lol. 120k for senior? Personally, I would be offended if someone offers me that for a senior.
