Hi Everyone,
Hope you all are doing great!

I wanted to know if I have any chance for getting a PR anytime soon based on my profile (shared below chronologically):

- I have completed my MBA in Marketing/ Advertising.
- after which I completed a 1 year work experience in India at an ad agency as a graphic designer
- I have come to Ontario on a Study Permit for a 1-year Post Graduate Certificate program in a Tech Course (my study permit profile was rejected once).

I am considering to apply for PR directly based on the profile I have currently.

Could someone please help me understand my chances for applying for the same.

Thank you in advance!

How many points do you have under Express Entry right now?

This is most likely too low to be selected through Express Entry directly. Either increase your points or look into the PNP programs.

How much score is appropriate to be selected?
Draws are paused right now. However ideally you would want to be as close to 500 as possible.

Draws are at around 500 points for now, and it doesn't show any signs of going down soon. You could get extra points in your language tests (if they're not yet at max) or maybe consider getting PNP nominations. Also, have plans B and C, like trying to apply for PR after working a year in a skilled job since you would have additional points for that (you would have extra months earned while waiting for your PGWP approval).
I also studied for a year only. Thus, I also got 1 yr PGWP and just had 473 points. I applied for BCPNP to increase my points and applied through FSW.

Did you get a job in BC first and then apply for BCPNP? How early did you apply for the PNP?

Except if you graduated from an eligible post-grad program from a BC DLI, you would need to be employed in a skilled job in a qualified BC employer to apply for BCPNP.
I made a profile in BCPNP last July (when I became a regular employee), got invited after less than a month and processed my documents afterwards. I got my nomination after two months (non-tech), which was reflected in my express entry profile around October last year.

Hello! You mentioned that you applied for the non-tech BC PNP stream. Could you please give any information on how the employer can meet the recruitment efforts criteria?

Also, in non-tech fields, which kind of employers are willing to give a permanent offer and declare that they couldn't hire a Citizen or PR? I've been having these questions for a very long time and there are no answers or advice till now.

I'll be truly grateful if you could provide any insight into the process please. Thanks a lot.

They just printed off their Indeed page, proving that they posted an ad for the job. They didn't do any declaration, but in the employer form, they would need to write how many people applied for the job and how long it was posted. Any type of employer is okay as long as they give you a permanent offer for a skilled job and they meet the qualifications stated in the BCPNP guide.

I'm grateful for your kind response.

My employer might be willing to give a job offer that's valid until the expiry of my PGWP. The letter will say that the offer would be permanent if I get PR. Would you think this kind of offer fulfills the "permanent, indeterminate" offer requirement?

My employer knows I only have a year to work with them since my PGWP is only suitable for one year, but they don't have any problem giving me a permanent job offer. Just tell them to omit the validity of their job offer relative to your PGWP since it may sound like a contractual or term-based offer. I just chatted with our HR and explained my circumstance and how I would need their support in gathering the documents needed (which isn't really a lot). Good luck and I hope you got your nomination as well!
